Wrong! Many people think harassment is illegal in the workplace but it is only illegal if prompted by, or infected with illegal discrimination or criminal threats.
Harassment in the workplace occurs every single day but only certain types of harassment are illegal. Saying "I don't know we hired you, you are awful at your job, I want to see everything that you were doing each and every day so I can see whether or not you should be fired" may be harassing but it is only illegal if you have been singled out because of your race, gender, disability, national origin or religion.

Examples Of Workplace Harassment
"Quid Pro Quo" Sexual Harassment - Is when an employee is offered some type of employment benefit in return for sexual favors or is subjected to an adverse action because of a refusal to engage in a request for sexual favors.
"Hostile Work Environment" - Is when an employee is subjected to unwelcome or unwanted sexual conduct that alters the terms and conditions of their employment or creates an abusive, intimidating, offensive or "Hostile Work Environment".
Verbal Harassment - Sexual innuendos and other suggestive comments, racial or ethnic slurs, jokes or teasing about sex, race, age, religion, a disability or gender. Repeated requests for dates, comments about a persons body, dress, excessive flattery, abusive language, insults or threats.
Non-Verbal Harassment - Leering, Staring in a sexual manner including whistling or hooting, vulgar sounds or gestures, hateful pictures, obscene emails, excessive love letters or gifts and derogatory written materials.
Physical Harassment - Inappropriate touching, kissing, displaying of body parts, physically blocking another individuals movement and assault,
