The Law Offices of Timothy M Kolman & Associates was founded in June of 1991 as a general practice law firm. In 2001, the firm decided to specialize entirely in plaintiffs' employment law. The firm's general practice background, in corporate, criminal, transactional, real estate, bankruptcy and international law gave it a unique ability to understand the full legal impact of a discrimination case.

The firm represents only employees and never the employer. The firm specializes in all aspects of employment law and prides itself on the quality and sophistication of its representation. The firm practices in an unconventional manner. The lawyers take a great deal of time to understand the client and their case. The firm has found, through experience, that this care and attention pays enormous dividends in the representation of the client. By taking the time to understand all aspects of the case, the firm is better able to make tactical and legal decisions regarding representation.

Over its history, the firm has pioneered changes in the law and has over 150 cases reported in the law books. The firm has tried numerous cases to verdict and has never backed down from an honorable fight. The firm's legal sophistication and depth of talent have allowed it to appeal cases upwards to the circuit courts and to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court when and where necessary, without ever having to refer them to appellate counsel.

Recently, the firm has co-litigated a class action lawsuit brought on behalf of employees who were denied overtime. The firm is also pursuing another class-action on behalf of a class of women who were denied the opportunity of promotion.
